“Not ever?” he asks, a part of him hoping that he hasn’t ruined his entire chance of having something good with her.
“Not now,” she says with a small smile, taking a step back. “I just… a lot happened to me last year, and it’s hard to get over it, okay? I like you, I do, but I need to focus on other things right now. This might be something good, but I can’t jump head first in it. I’m sorry.”
He smiles, nodding slowly at her, “It’s okay. For you, I can wait.”
